Goblinstomper! Development Diary (XXIV): Playtesting

Not much to report.  Did a little play testing.  Found some bugs and repaired them.  Transferred maps from the old game to the new one.  That sort of thing.

I’ll be more chatty tomorrow.

  1. Just out of curiosity, what did you think about the actual gameplay (however limited that it may have been)? Were there any “notes” of a desire to replay the type of game that you’re creating or do you think that it would benefit from a “reward” factor (like Diablo – however little). You know…Do *this or that* and you’ll get some gold or your character might “level up”? If not, then do you intend to interject this element in the future?

While RPG Maker is a very versatile engine (for instance, it made the Horror Game Corpse Party), I figured I’d stick with a basic Role Playing Game like the early Dragon Quests and Final Fantasys. I’ve given some thoughts to how to go about that, but nothing solid yet. Just wanted to get a basic point a to point b plot made up
