Chris’s Invincible Super-Blog is a good source for mind shattering freak outs. However, I was unprepared for the below image. Oh, I should have been. After “Anime” Power Girl, I should have been. But no. This sucker caught me off guard:
That’s just… That’s just wrong.
But the worst part (yes, it gets worse) is that it goes for $800. (FUTURE CULLEN sez: Chris Sims, he of Chris’s Invincible Super-blog, has pointed out in the comments that the $800 price tag is for a life sized figure. This does not make me feel better knowing this. At all. Sorry about the error.)
Really.
Y’know, the original toys were better looking (albeit very cheap looking), could be posed (a little, which is more than can be said for this thing) and cost less (well, back then.)
We’ve come a long way since then…

It’s like the designers never saw the movie and were just “guessing” at it.
Is it just me or her breasts bigger than her FREAKIN’ WAIST?
That thing’s getting worse the more I look at it.
EIGHT
HUNDRED
DOLLARS
?!?
That’s so utterly insane, it should only be findable by some explorers at the South Pole…
What’s really insane is that there’s a fool out there chomping at the bit to spend $800 for it…
Well, to be fair, there’s a regular sized version that sold for much less. The eight hundred gets you a life-sized 5′6″ version, which is infinitely more horrific.
How the hell did I miss that bit of information? Oh, right.. That picture.
Still overpriced.
I can’t imagine getting a life-size version of that, even for free. Unless I had a bunch of them, and my house was burning down, and I would (subsequently) be considered lost, so I could exact some revenge on people…
Ew.
Yeah, that’s in the window of Forbidden Planet here in London. I spent two minutes just staring at it going “WTF?”
BeckoningChasm, If you DO happen to get a bunch of these and your house begins to burn down, PLEASE call so I can watch with you.
And, for the record, you wouldn’t be considered lost by me. But then that can’t be very reassuring, cause I’m……….
POOR CARRIE FISHER
Well sorry to set the fox among the chicken but I actually like the figure
They were sculpted by Gentle Giant who produce a number of these stylised maquettes and I think the series are great and dynamic. The heavy price tag has been put on for the rareity of this figure. It seems to me that this was quite intentional and always seems the way with these types collectables. it also seems to have happened to the Padme’s (or how ever you spell her name) figure as well.
In response to Henry’s comment. Well I can see what you mean about it not resembling anything from the films, but In-fact these were based on the ‘Clone Wars’ animated series and so weren’t really aimed and reproducing the original designs or characters.
Well just thought I would share my opinion
R.D
Maybe I’m a perv, but I like it. Carrie Fisher was hot in the day and this (kind of) pays tribute to that. It’s a sexy look for Princess Leia. How is this different than the blatant gold bikini?
