The Crossover No One Demanded!

Okay okay okay.

We all understand, in our heart of hearts, that I am a very strange man with very strange ideas, right? And sometimes these ideas are, shall we say, bizarre?

We’re on the same page, right?

Good. Good.

Now let me walk you through this.

What do you get when you cross the beautiful Power Girl:

My version of Power Girl

with the mindless Man-Thing?

My Veriosn of Man-Thing

Why, you get this sketch:

She really doesn’t look comfortable right now, does she?

Let’s talk turkey. I’m certain that I’ve blown the anatomy of both characters here and there. Specifically Man-Thing’s arms (though I suppose I could use the “Swamp Monster arms” argument.)

None of this matters.

I thought of the sketch and was able to do it in a matter of minutes. It came out with two recognizable characters (albeit Cullen version). It is, to me, further proof that I’m nailing the drawing thing. I just gotta keep it up.

FUTURE CULLEN sez: “Matter of Minutes” = didn’t take a couple of days hours to complete.

Decent sketch and you’re absolutely right – practice makes perfect (or at least “reasonable”). In this sketch, Power Girl looks like she ended up on the wrong end of a blind date.

When you draw as many crappy sketches as I have, “reasonable” comes damn close to “perfect.” I’m getting there, though. More work on anatomy, I think, and more on background and perspective.

The expressions are excellent. That’s where the lives of drawings live, not in the technical details.
