I’ve been whipping out my calculator and doing the math for what my total goal was for the day each and every day. What a maroon! What I should have done was make up a little table and use it.
A table, such as this one:
| Day | Goal | Day | Goal | Day | Goal | 1 | 1667 | 11 | 18337 | 21 | 35007 | 2 | 3334 | 12 | 20004 | 22 | 3667 | 3 | 5001 | 13 | 21671 | 23 | 38341 | 4 | 6668 | 14 | 23338 | 24 | 40008 | 5 | 8335 | 15 | 25005 | 25 | 41675 | 6 | 10002 | 16 | 26672 | 26 | 43342 | 7 | 11669 | 17 | 28339 | 27 | 45009 | 8 | 13336 | 18 | 30006 | 28 | 46676 | 9 | 15003 | 19 | 31673 | 29 | 48343 | 10 | 16670 | 20 | 33340 | 30 | 50000 + |
|---|
Yeah. I know. I’m anal…

GRRRRR! Word Press wouldn’t let me just cut and past my table. Oh no! I had to go copy and paste each row individually, then go into HTML and fix things there.
Pain. In. The. Backside.
I could have just deleted the post. but NOOOO. I have to be obsessive about the whole thing.
GRRRRR.
According to the numbers, I guess I’m ahead a bit.
I wouldn’t be surprised. As I recall from last year, you were ahead of me most if not all of the way.
I’m pretty much right on track. The problem with a table like that for me is that I like to have days off (like Thanksgiving) – so I’d be spending time trying to stay ahead of the table – or feeling guilty for being behind. I just figure out which days I’m available to write for the month and divide accordingly. Then I split the writing into 4 sessions per day. Whatever works, I guess.
I just noticed day 22. I guess that’s for the people who haven’t put pen to paper yet, or for those who’ve realised the entire project is garbage and went back to grab only “the good parts.”
(Snark snark snark.)
D’oh!
Actually, that’s Word Press’s fault and not mine. Still feel a bit guilty about it.
